Go on a geological tour to understand the origins of Madeira. The cliffs are covered by water from the surface to a depth of 4000 meters. Only 4 procent of the island lies above sea level and reveils a lot of its interesting history. That will be highlighted on this tour.Madeira was in several periods volcanically active.
The exact location of each crater is obscure. In each volcanic phase in several places of the island were eruption centers. Remnants can be seen in some places in the interior of the island, where pyroclastic rock is traversed with basaltic material. At some points in the high mountains also seen conspicuous domes or cliffs.
